Meet Origin Hand and Origin Myo

After three years of development and eight generations of bionic hand prototypes, the design of Origin Hand is now frozen.

Origin Hand is a modular prosthetic hand designed to combine strength, haptic tactile feedback and personalization. It represents the culmination of three years of engineering and iteration by the Origin BCI team.

Haptic feedback and 30 kg lifting capacity

Origin Hand is built to lift up to 30 kg while providing continuous haptic feedback to communicate information about how an object is being held.

This feedback is designed to give users greater awareness of their grip, including when and how firmly an object is being held. By combining mechanical capability with sensory feedback, Origin Hand aims to make everyday interactions more intuitive.

Modular fingers for easier repairs

Individual fingers can be replaced independently, reducing repair sessions to just a few minutes. The fingers can also be hot-swapped, helping minimize downtime in industrial and utilitarian applications.

This modular architecture is designed to simplify maintenance and make the hand more adaptable to different use cases.

A prosthetic hand designed for personalization

Origin Hand’s backplate can be customized through engraving, allowing users to personalize the appearance of their prosthesis and make it distinctly their own.

Origin Myo myoelectric sensors

Alongside the prosthetic hand, Origin BCI is introducing Origin Myo, its first generation of myoelectric sensors, designed to simplify prosthetic control.

Origin Myo features a socket-integrated interface designed to make sensor installation more seamless. The system connects a user’s muscle signals with the capabilities of a bionic hand.
